When I started my journey as a stylist over twenty years ago, I got my license as a way to have a job wherever I traveled during my time as an actress and model in California. Being an actress was everything I had dreamed of as a kid, but during a trip home I fell in love and my dreams changed. I put down roots here in Illinois and worked as a stylist in a few different salons until I decided to open my own salon. In 2017, I opened the first iteration of my current salon that was originally called, "Northern Lights Salon and Spa".

Growing up, I had so so many terrible haircuts from salons and asked myself, "How hard can this really be?" I decided then that if I couldn't get a decent haircut, I would be the person to give them. Details are so incredibly important because those small details can make or break a cut. As someone with curly hair, I know how difficult it can be to find someone who knows how to cut and style my hair type. The good news is that because I have curly hair, I can handle curly hair. Today, I'm a busy mother taking care of two kids, 3 dogs, and 5 chickens when I'm not running the salon or volunteering as a firefighter. During the summers, we love to go fishing or hiking. In the winters, the kids and I love playing in the snow or curling up by our wood stove. I love my kids, but they've given me a few grays and I have hardly any time to get ready in the mornings. Because of this, I specialize in grey coverage and educating my clients on how to achieve a quick and easy style. As a performer, I know the importance of appearance which is why the small details are a big deal to me. As a mom, I know how valuable time is which is why I get it right the first time by checking in throughout the process.
